Course Description: World History, Cultures, and Geography is a two-semester college prep class that covers the major turning points that shaped the modern world: The foundations of democratic ideals in the ancient world, democratic revolutions and cultural changes in Europe, then continuing into the late 18th century and through to the present, including the cause and course of the two world wars. Students will trace the rise of democratic ideas and develop an understanding of the historical roots of current world issues, especially as they pertain to international relations.The following is a list of the major units we will cover over the course of the school year.
